Date of Last Revision: July 2016
There are important Tax and Fee terms related to Your service, please review the entire terms. By activating our Services, You acknowledge that You have read, understood and agree to these terms and conditions.
Federal, State, Local, & Provincial Taxes
These taxes are imposed by federal, state, provincial, local, and/or municipal governments.
911/211 Service Fee
This fee is used to recover Business Plus's costs directly associated with providing 911/211 and E911/E211 for DigitalLine customers. This is not a government-mandated charge. The 911/211 Service Fee is currently set at $2.00 per Emergency Address and applies to DigitalLine and VoIP customers only.
This is a charge imposed by local governments to help pay for emergency services such as fire and rescue.
Federal Universal Service Recovery Fee
This fee is used to recover contributions Business Plus is required to make to the federal Universal Service Fund, which provides support to promote access to telecommunications services at reasonable rates for those living in rural and high-cost areas, income-eligible consumers, rural health care facilities, and schools and libraries. Business Plus is permitted, but not required, to recover these costs from its customers. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) sets the applicable USF rate on a quarterly basis and is subject to change.
Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee
The Compliance and Administrative Cost Recovery Fee (“CRF”) is a fee that Business Plus charges in order to recover the various costs and expenses that it incurs in connection with:
I. complying with legal, regulatory, and other requirements, including without limitation federal, state, and local reporting and filing requirements;
II. responding to subpoenas, civil investigation demands, and other official requests, and otherwise assisting with official investigations;
III. reporting and managing payments to third party telecommunications services providers; and
IV. acquiring and protecting intellectual property, including without limitation through the filing and maintenance of patents, trademarks, and other proprietary rights.
The CRF is not a tax, nor is it mandated by any level of government or government agency.
The CRF is currently set at $2.00 per digital line for Pro and Pro Plus users and $1.00 per digital line for Basic Users and per account for Business Plus members whom utilize a telephone, text messaging, and/or facsimile number without a digital line.
Business Plus's Interchange pass-through pricing allows the actual cost of processing (interchange fees & assessments) to be passed directly to Members without markup. Interchange fees are determined by the payment brands (such as Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover®, and American Express®). Interchange fees are the same for all businesses and are the lowest attainable rates and fees. Interchange fees may be found on the payment brands' website.
